Kim, one of the great things about your posts is that they often remind me of something I have in my closet that I haven't worn in years. And then I see it here and feel renewed affection for it. Doesn't help your bottom-line, I know, but it's fun, so...thanks. xo

I wear my chambray shirt(s) constantly either on their own or over a tee. I own THREE––one worn to a frazzle, one nicely and evenly faded and one in a crisp dark wash!! The other thing I have now found I can not live without is that freaking Emerson Fry caftan that Kim posted about a few weeks ago. I took it with me on my recent fantastic trip to St. Thomas ––it served as a "bathrobe" a beach cover up and as a "dress" one night for dinner. Buy. It.

You are on my wavelength. I literally just asked Dacy Gillespie for help shopping for a new chambray shirt. I ended up buying a light wash, roomy fit, 100% cotton button up from The Gap for $39. I wear them as an extra layer in CA fall and spring and as an easy take on and off layer on a flight.

RIP Filene's! One of my fave pair of jeans (from Seven!) was from there.

I'm not usually a fan of just regular chambray shirts, but the Ann Mashburn and ba&sh versions are gorgeous. I especially love the Ann Mashburn.

Why do I despise a drop shoulder so much? (And so many Alex Mill shirts have them - ugh.) I think it’s so unflattering to everyone. At the shoulder or slightly below is best. Otherwise you look like you’re wearing your giant Uncle John’s shirt.

This is not true if you have linebacker's shoulders (like I do). In this case, the drop shoulder softens your silhouette and is a more balanced look IMHO. I look hideous in a non-drop-shoulder button down.
