I had a big launch party a couple summers ago and after obsessing for weeks about what to wear as a newly 40+ boss lady, I went with a silver gown with a white blazer over it. The chicest most grown-up outfit ever! I am still so happy with the pictures. No idea what to wear it with now though.
Another yes vote for the dress, will be great with the wedges. How about some pics of Kim in all these goodies someday? Also love a white blazer but I always ditch mine feeling like I look like I belong in the lab. You have inspired me to try again. Have a great week cyber pals.
There’s one at Zara (lounging in my closet, worn twice already since it arrived last week) with a single black button and stripes on the turn up cuff and it totally breaks the labcoat vibe ($69!)
ooh thank you, I have a cart full at Zara that I need to revisit. Going to home to Boston this week where there is no tax on clothes. DANGER , yes. Appreciate that!
good point, thank you. They are a crap shoot for sure, and can be overwhelming for me. Pack a canteen. The ones in Europe are so good , I was lucky enough to be in Dublin a few weeks ago and got some real linen and suede sandals. Worth a pop in if you have one nearby. I usually am only in there bringing in a return. They are smart and stock the fancy areas with the best stuff. (LaJolla, NYC, Newbury St)
I’ve heard they’re boiling hot, very crowded and the reels of the dressing room freaked my freak lol so I just buy a size “up” online and hope for the best 😂😂
Yes to buying the dress! It is really special and seems easy to wear all seasons depending on how you layer it. It reminds me of Georgia O'Keefe's exceptional wardrobe: graphic shape and print, quality material, timeless design.
I really do like a white blazer this time of year. It does the same thing a black blazer does during the winter months, but looks less severe and more appropriate for summer. I find myself reaching for it whether I'm wearing, jeans, trousers, or a dress..
Yes to the chocolately caftan! They might look cute with the cocoa version of those Madewell flatforms. You had me at mah jongg! That’s a beautiful shirt I could wear to my weekly mah jongg game!🐉🀄️
Looking at those platform wedges, I'm wondering if a woman starts looking weird in platform shoes after a certain age? I think it has something to do with if they make you feel uncomfortable, like concerned you might take a fall. Then, you appear to be putting vanity over good sense? Anyway, I'm avoiding anything over an inch or two for now...
I didn't want to share this with your (awesome) piece about your grandmother and Loehmann's... I remember fondly, in the early 90s, when traffic to the hamptons was bad, pulling off and going to the one on the way. I still have some great Karl Lagerfeld earrings from there. But that's an aside... ***LIBERTY** at Adidas is pretty cute, but really more for kids. If the quilted jacket were a liner, maybe, but don't really see myself wearing it.https://www.adidas.com/us/adidas-originals-x-liberty-london-bucket-hat-kids/JC8518.html
I was in the Block Shop store last week and the black/brown stripe as well as the same pattern in an orange cotton stripe were only available in size XS. I regretted not buying earlier!

That’s how I wear mine! Also, consider Googling “Emmanuelle Alt in white blazer.” A bit edgy but good ideas.
Satiny cargo/jogger pants with a sequin/metallic tank or a floral/print tank. Also, throw over your shoulders with a dress.
Ok anonymous stylist! Thank you!!

I bought online not in store. Not sure if that’s relevant. I don’t think I’ve ever actually been “inside” a Zara store

About the Block Shop toffee and black dress, to be stylish instead of just okay, the bright red shoes are key. Or maaaaybe gold would work. My 2¢.

I covet that black silk dress 🤭
That mahjong print is a brilliant idea. 💡
The Block Shop dress is great…and at the same time, the sleeves make it a winter dress, for me.
Life is short! Buy the dress!
That Madewell shirt is super cute. I've discovered so many great finds from your content :) thanks
My ankles feel very iffy in platforms these days, and the thought of a sprained or broken ankle keeps me flats.

Bummer!
It seems the caftan dress would be a departure from your day-to-day uniform, making it a yes vote from me! :)
