I always enjoy looking at your picks, but am aghast at the price. Public school teacher here. Are people honest to goodness paying over $100 for a button down and over $200 for a dress on the regular!?

Honestly, I could afford a lot of this, but I can’t bring myself to buy it. But I love these posts for inspiration!

Nonprofit here. I will for something I really, really like that I think will be a staple. I also just like Kim's POV, even if I'm often thrifting.

Same! For usual wardrobe spending though, not in my priority budget. I’m a big fan of consignment and thrift shops, and I’m a Poshmark/ eBay devotee.

It was the white jeans at >$400 that made me choke on my chardonnay! I said aloud to my husband: "would you spend over $400 on jeans?" ... Of course, he said no.

I love Kim's list for ~ideas~ and ~fantasy~ shopping, but, alas, I cannot indulge in such purchases. (I did buy white jeans from the Gap, which are very cute!)

Agree on beauty being the best part of the Nordstrom sale. Do you think that most of the clothing, jewelry etc are items of lower quality made for the sale to compensate for the lower price?

I’ve been shopping the Nordstrom sale for over 30 years. One of the things that makes it such a good sale is that the clothing is all new season items that will go up to regular price once the sale ends. The beauty products tend to be special additions, for instance, gift sets, orspecial sizes manufactured specifically for the sale. So an answer your question, no it is not a lower quality.

I disagree here. You’ll notice that the higher end brands do t participate in the sale any longer. It’s all in-store brands and a handful of the usual brands like Veronica Beard, Madewell and Ugg. They do indeed make items specifically for the sale and if you compare them to previous years, you’ll notice fabric composition is the biggest change (lots of polyester for example). Anyhow, agree that Beauty deals are where to focus your attention.

I don't have any idea - but, I am a fan of Nordys since they are nice to people. And, it's an actual store. I don't get out as much as I should, but it is one of the places I enjoy visiting. And, I buy shoes there sometimes. (I'm not a big shopper.)

So, if people don't like what they see, I hope you will take a moment and let them know what you want. (On the website, they ask constantly.)

Also btw, I think Veronica Beard blazers look fantastic! They are too spendy for me though, esp as I look like a defensive lineman in anything with a shoulder pad.

I kind of don't think so, but I've been wrong before.

Damnit Kim! That shirt has been sitting in my cart ever since it appeared. I love the Étienne shirts and have bought several since JCrew created the style. But I’ve been trying to slow my spending. I do not need another shirt. Ack!

I have to say as a girl of a certain age, I'm pretty sure I had that velour sweatshirt top in the 70s. Would wear it again for sure!

I followed your hunch and went to buy the pinkish velour crewneck. For the life of me, I could not find the fabric content. I’m always only in search of natural fibers. Does anybody know?

Love the stripes on the J Crew button-down—that's a great color combo. It's on sale, too, so I'm thinking seriously about grabbing it.

I can't even think about wearing a knit unless it's linen! These all look great though

Floral ME+EM (classy), H&M mini (fab), velour top (nice color), J. Crew button down (tied) are my faves here.
