I love Claire V and have the Tropezienne in 3 colors, the oldest of which is pushing 9 years. In addition to all its other virtues, it’s the lightest leather tote I’ve ever had.
I've been hankering for a LLBean boat'n'tote for awhile now––today might be the day. Also, I received my gold rock star Madewell tee that Kim posted a while back and it is pretty darn perfect. Looks GREAT with white jeans!
I just splurged on the large New York tote from Demellier in a dark brown suede. I do not see the color anymore on their website sadly. It is beautifully made - minimal hardware, very tiny stamp in gold with the brand name on the bottom. Today is its first day out and so far I give two thumbs up. I am looking forward to using it for work and travel.
I found an Oakland, CA based company called UnoEth. It’s a father-daughter owned business that imports beautiful leather goods from Ethiopia. I have carried their Hanna tote for going on 5 years now and it’s so well made.
Vertical bags are too long for my short stature. Like you , I am really digging that bag with the unusual green color. And the price is great! I’ll be ordering today!
You have a fantastic eye for turning the ordinary into something special! Your selection of totes not only highlights functionality but also style in a way that really elevates everyday essentials. I'm curious, how do you go about picking these pieces? Your knack for finding chic yet practical options is impressive!
I’ve been on the lookout for a summery woven tote with a zip closure at the top, with no real success. Something that works as a carryon for travel and a beach tote, for example. Not super expensive. I have one I got at Nordstrom about 8 years ago and it’s getting worn out. It seems makers are saving money by eliminating zippers.

I love Clare V. too and have several bags from there, but would it kill them to add an interior pocket?

If one is feeling medium-splurgy, I might add the Cuyana to this list...the tote "system" that they always do
I have . . . six Cuyana bags. They're just so perfect.
I have the Cuyana in caramel. I love the vertical orientation and the zipper on top, plus it's a great size and has held up well.

Love the Madewell ones and especially the blue from Mango! That color is unexpected and really fresh-looking.

Yes the denimy blue one is sublime.
These are so excellent. Thanks for taking the time to source them out for us and write the post!
