Current sunglass trends are an excellent reminder not to get sucked up into trends for the sake of trends. They flatter no one and pretty much everyone looks like a dip shit in those styles. These are all fabulous choices.
The shape of the second pair you linked to as an example of Just No screams Wanker Dudes of the 80s. I made a pronouncement decades ago that sunglasses should either make you look like a member of the Velvet Underground or Jackie O, and I think that criteria still stands.
Excellent selection! I'm 73 and have worn sunglasses since I was in high school because my eyes are sensitive to light. I have tiny cataracts just starting, and my doctor says it's because I've always protected my eyes. A friend once asked me if my eyes had ever been exposed to natural light. Additional benefits are that they cover the bags under my eyes and look cool! Ray Bans are my favorite, but Warby Parker makes some great ones as well.
Your taste is sunglasses is impeccable. I think that the bigger the surface area of the lens, the less sun damage you're going to see down the road. These teeny-glasses girlies are going to fuck around and find out.
I like the Madewell Squares in dark lenses--- and they don't cost a fortune. Sezane come in 2nd if you want to spend more. The wire frames are cool too but only in the lighter color where they have a kinda hippie vibe. The Ray Bans go without saying.
Total agreement. And i don't like the prices much better for the most part.
I have had mostly good luck with Use My Frames - they put in new lenses. (Note that if you want sunglasses and you don't ask for dark enough lenses the first time, it can't be fixed after - you have to start over, I don't remember why - so that bit is a little tricky. But other than that, I've had no problems at all. And the too-light glasses work fine actually.) I use my vintage ones and I can even find more pairs online. There may be other places that do this. (Costco will not.)
I do plan to wander over to Madewell and try some on. Lately I am uncomfortable in my wire glasses and I may switch to plastic all the time. Or, drag my fanny to the doctor and get more contacts. But who knows when that will happen.
It seems to me, some people can actually carry off these humongous frames. I'm not sure how they do it. I can't though. But Stacey and Clinton say I should wear what I like so maybe you'll see me in some of those drugstore wraparounds! Ha. I am already a Hat Lady, what's the difference?

Amen sister. Well said, everyone does look like a dipshit! Thank you for telling it like it is
Hahaha it’s so true!
Lol well said
Great looks! And why bother with sunglasses if they barely cover your face?

Wanker is one of my all-time favorite words!
Don't forget "Tosser."
But should I not say these things around the youngs? Somebody please tell me. I guess, if I have to ask ...
Maybe someone British can chime in.

I’m always looking at sunglasses that can be fitted with a prescription lenses. I like the first pair the best!
