Kim, have you ever thought about doing a post on sweatshirts (and sweaters, but it's especially prevalent with sweatshirts) that do NOT have either raglan sleeves or drop shoulders? As a busty, broad-shouldered person I find extra fabric/shapelessness in the upper chest area hellaciously unflattering and am always on the lookout for I guess you would call it a set-in sleeve... which is hard to find on a "casual" top!
Me too I am shaped like a V. I have to pass on so many sweaters/sweatshirts because they have dropped shoulders. Even“nicer” sweaters have dropped shoulders. Yes, set in sleeves is exactly right. And… I could do without the boxy, cropped shape too. It used to be easy to find clothes that had a little more structure. But not finding things that work makes my wallet happy.
I think the vast majority of people in the US have a great fondness and esteem for Canadians. I hope this will all be over soon - or at least, that it might feel that way.
As a glass half full person, I expect the worst should be over in a couple years, if we're lucky. (These first two are going to be rough though.) I think people are realizing now that inflation isn't like a light switch. (Had we a healthy media culture, voters would have known that already.)
These are all so great, love that punchy funnel-neck Madewell!
Varley makes some lovely sweatshirts (and pants) in their DoubleSoft fabric, which drapes so nicely and I highly recommend. I found their Betsy Sweat at Anthro, and I call it my dress-up-sweatshirt.
WFH since 2010 so I live in 5 copies of the same sweatshirt/sweatpants. Cancelling the VIP membership takes a phone call, but Fenty Savage has my fave oversized sweatpants for not much.
If anyone has a recommendation for a 12/D cup full length somewhat-supportive cami to wear under these, Alo stopped making mine.
These are all fabulous and just in time. I’ve been hunting sweatshirts that are a cheery color and a better shape than just “oversized” and shapeless. The short-sleeve one is so cute.
I love the cute short sleeve white one! My mother used to wear velour hoodies with matching pants. It’s nice to see they are making a comeback in different colors. They’re so comfy. Thank you for sharing Kim !
Slightly less of an investment, is the Modern Weekender (vneck and crew) from Z-Supply, which I swear is the most flattering sweatshirt I've ever owned. Apologies if it's a ripoff of one that I should know, but don't b/c it's out of my range.
Great post. Decent looking sweatshirts are high on my need to get list. Wow, the beautiful red Madewell sweatshirt sold out quickly. Boden has some cute ones but they are mostly sold out. Hope you can do another post on sweatshirts in the fall before inventories get low.
I am wondering if it would be possible for you to post the occasional Made in Canada items on this site. It is with utter dismay that I find myself, along with the majority of my fellow Canadians, in the position where we must boycott American products to protect our Canadian economy as a result of the egregious tariffs imposed on Canadian goods by your Republican Party.
I seem to tend naturally toward frumpiness, so I usually avoid sweatshirts, which make me even frumpier. But I love the one with the zips on the side, and the funnel neck is both cute and affordable. The Kule nautical one is incredibly adorable, but not in the budget at the moment.

Seconded! I am a person with tiny bird shoulders and drop shouldered things look terrible on me.
Agree!

LOVE the Kule poppy color- I didn't realize they had a store in NYC. Want to try it on in person.

That me+em one is calling to me
The short sleeve one…head slap, light bulb, duh…why haven’t I had something like that lo these prior 58 years??? 💙

Love the first 4 here. Never heard of a terry sweatshirt. Interesting.

Universal Standard carries a side zip sweatshirt in more sizes if interested. I have it and it’s very fancy. And US needs to put me on their payroll.
And the Clare V one looks super cozy

Not *my* party, Christine
Of course not, that wasn’t my inference.
