I don’t need a single item on this list but cannot stop thinking about the toile packing cubes!

I found the cadence bottles to be heavy, and only useful for an overnight, or maybe a long weekend trip. One of the bottles leaks, so I’m back to refilling kevin murphy travel size shampoo bottles.

I got the Luka duffel in bright red last month and I love it, I keep finding new pockets :)

Everything Rita said. Cadence bottles didn’t work for me either — even the little drugstore empty bottles for travel I bought were more dependable, easier to open and held more.

Refilling the Kevin Murphy travel bottles is really the best way to go for shampoo and conditioner.

A friend gifted me the Cuyana leather set about 10 years ago and they *just* needed to be replaced this year. Quality and chicness cannot be beat.

Those toille cubes (monogrammed, of course) will be occupying the back of my mind until further notice.

Those Baggu pouches! Agree, I want a dress in any of those prints. And, yes, I love a good packing pouch/cube/toiletry bag. Do I need anymore packing pouches/cubes/toiletry bags? Why, yes I don't and yes, I will be ordering.

I have such a weakness for travel gear, and am always searching for the perfect item. Just this morning I was packing things into the new backpack I bought myself to replace the one I bought that wasn’t quite right, which replaced the perfect one that unfortunately got wet and mouldy but was discontinued, and I thinking that it needed some new pouches. A new bag necessitates a new way of organizing things, and that inevitably means I’m buying some new pouches to organize all the stuff I seem to need to carry with me every day. Travel is just every day times the need to get everything perfect multiplied by 1000.

I have a weakness for these items too! I have some mesh packing cubes that I really like — they were not expensive at all, breathable, and bright turquoise so easy to keep track of. But darn if those toile ones aren’t lovely. I also have numerous pouches but always seem to be tempted to buy more — I usually keep them fun and inexpensive. And yes to the bright colors and prints! I am really, really tempted by that duffel, despite the fact that we have several serviceable carry-ons. I just got a new rolling bag for my camera gear (sometimes needed when I take a full kit), which sparked the purchase of a new laptop sleeve. It was inexpensive from Amazon (I know, but I’m greatly reducing my reliance on them after this purchase), and is basically a bright green puffy jacket for my laptop, which makes me ridiculously happy.

I would get that sleeve just for the color! I don’t travel with a laptop, so I would find some junk to fill it!💚

I can report back on my own experience with Cadence - ridiculous. They were too heavy! When you pack, you're going for light. They are OPAQUE which is not helpful. The magnets don't hold things together as firmly as you'd need for travel. I can't imagine who likes these - I bought a variety of sizes and colors and couldn't give them away, nobody would take them. (Also, I was going through old files last week and found thousands of dollars of receipts for Eve France items I've bought and loved from the 80s. Gave away the halter when I was too old for it, but I treasure the pieces I kept and still use. If Mom ever has inventory to offload I might be your gal)

Oh do we share a passion here!

1) packing cubes are great but I only use the collapsible ones that allow me to fit more stuff in my case.

2) I bought the Cadence containers a few years ago. I loved the idea, but the magnets made them heavy and they also attracted the attention of the TSA when they went through the scanner. It’s possible they’ve changed the design since I tried them but it was a bummer for me at the time.

3) Love little pouches for organizing. Clare V has ones similar to the Comme des Garcon one that I every day, one for lip stuff and the other for credit cards and cash. You can find nice used ones on TheRealReal.

Yet again, reading my mind! As a frequent traveler I'm always looking for the perfect combo of "stuff"........so many boxes checked w/ this post. As a frequent Tuckernuck shopping I was today years old when I realized they have these marvelous packing cubes. I feel one last "birthday" gift to myself coming on!

I am interested to hear about the Cadence containers. I travel a lot and I have been tempted by them, but they are pretty pricey and I want to get a reliable review before I pay that much for something I don’t exactly need.

I hope the Cadence containers work out, since I was snooping around there and they say their labels are compostable. I have a thing about labels. (Though, I do not yet compost. On the To Do list.) I wish more companies would pay attention. I also like when they come off in one piece.

Re-using plastics seems a good thing, depending on a bunch of variables. I hope they figure it all out. There is a whole world of chemicals that may or may not leach, which I do not understand. And yet, for lightness and protection, plastic is hard to beat. It's a caper.

We will get there though, I think. Humans are good at technical problems.

Kim, have two amazing trips!! It's so exciting that you're coming out to LA! I am not very with-it or I would give suggestions. Hmm.

As for Away, I have a friend with shoulder issues who needed a lightweight everyday bag, so I got her one of the crossbodies. I think it is medium. I will report back. She likes to carry thousands of things with her in case she needs them.

I'm with you regarding plastics. SMH. Latest advice is it's better to recycle plastics than reuse them, especially containers that bottled water is sold in, which introduce nasty microplastics into our bodies with scary health effects...Alzheimer's, cancer, and more. Ugh. All my water bottles are metal now. Sorry to be a downer but (!) knowledge is power.

I agree it's best to be careful. (Though, not so careful that I never go anywhere! That's toooo careful.) I didn't read the site that carefully, maybe these are lined with something good. It seems like they are putting in a lot of work. If we-all don't buy things made out of recycled plastic, then that market won't work.

There are even recycled poly clothes now, which is interesting. I worry a little about whether the microplastics then end up in the laundry water. Right now, I just don't wash such items much. (TMI ... sorry.)

But I am a dinosaur, I still like cotton.

I have had good luck turning little bags inside out and running them through the wash! Worth a try before you toss them.

That’s too practical, Lol! I hadn’t thought about it because I think I love little bags. I will do that in the future . Thank you for the tip!

I have the same obsession! Just bought a set of the Cadence containers. 3 trips In January so that should be a good test! Safe travels :)

Anything to recommend that is clear? I hate checking a bag, and the various rules for what can be in or out of a bag are different at each airport. I stick with a clear pouch, but it’s looking ragged and would love something a little more fun (cute zipper maybe?).

Take a look at Walker San Francisco. I have many; light colors work best for visibility. Seeing what's inside and where it is in the bag speeds up my get-ready bigtime. https://walkerbags.com/

I love your travel recs! I’ve had the cotapaxi toiletry bag for a while and I’m never using anything ever again- it’s the best and fits so much. And I got the luka carry on earlier this year after reading a post of yours and it’s also the best! Almost tempted to get another In a darker color.
