Black clothes for summer
Why would I forsake the dominant hue in my wardrobe just because it's warm out?
The trick is to not wear it on the very hottest of days, and also to (obviously) go for lightweight materials that breathe. I also like mixing it with white, khaki, and gray instead of going head-to-toe (though I do go head-to-toe not infrequently). This lightweight voile shirt is pretty perfect; here’s something similar but much cheaper.
A cute cotton shirt with just the hint of a sleeve, for those who fear or avoid sleeveless.
An easy and classic silk popover dress that I will probably buy.
These chinos remind me a lot of Nili Lotan’s ever-popular Easthampton pant, but they cost a bit less. They also, if you’re interested, come in a veritable ton of good colors.
An easy, silky v-neck top for throwing on whenever.
I like the crinkly fabric on this cute tunic.
A versatile and pretty tee dress with a fuller skirt than one typically sees on tee dresses.
And here’s a pretty perfect voile shirt dress.
Another tee dress, this one with a slightly curved silhouette.
And yet another tee dress, with generous (but not too generous) side slits.
And finally, I think I would wear this linen caftan dress endlessly.
The hard thing about buying black clothes is that you can't see the details or shape very well online, in photos- I love when the item comes in a lighter color so you can see the details and then revert back to buying the black!
I've been thinking that maybe navy blue is my black.
