OK people, a bit of housekeeping: I’m taking off for the holiday starting tomorrow, and will be back here on Monday the 7th. I hope your weekend is aces. I won’t be going to the beach this weekend, but I probably will be soon, so I’ve got beachy things on the brain. Like this cute straw tote.
When that bag won’t accommodate all of my stuff, L.L. Bean’s Boat and Tote, which comes in many sizes and strap colors, is a pretty peerless choice.
Beach towels get trashed so fast, so I prefer happy-but-inexpensive choices like these.
A water bottle that’ll keep your cold drinks nicely cold, and which is personalizable.
Just the most adorable cooler bag ever.
I like these synthetic Birkenstocks for wearing to the beach: they’re lightweight, waterproof, and cost about half as much as traditional Birkenstocks.
I very much dislike stepping on the rocky, slimy ocean floor, so these unstylish-but-effective water shoes are a must.
As for sunscreen, I apply and frequently reapply Kosas’ lightly tinted Dream Beam—it also stands in for foundation this time of year.
For my body I use Sun Bum sunscreen spray, which is water-resistant and so easy to apply.
Such a fun sun hat, in an excellent yellow.
Here’s another cute hat that costs about half as much as the one above.
And finally, a crisp—and kind of sexy—cover-up
I love a straw bag. I love baskets. And a bag that looks like a beautiful basket has fireworks going off in my head!
Great beach finds. I would love for people to weigh in on using "normal" clothes as beach cover-ups especially natural fibers. How do you keep them from getting stained by sunscreen and tanning products? I understand getting more wear out of items, esp. expensive ones, but is this really doable?
